WP2- System requirements & Architecture

WP2 is the technical workpackage where the enabling technologies will be initially identified as the basis of the AIM architecture and will be used in the overall system specification which will cover two basic manifestations, namely the mechanisms for monitoring and managing appliances’ power consumption and their integration within the network. In parallel to architecture specification a separate task will work on profiling appliances energy consumption through appropriate measurements acquisition.

WP2 comprises the following objectives:

  • Define the requirements for the AIM architecture from the perspective of the three user groups and the three addressed appliance categories
  • Select the household appliance types to be supported by the architecture
  • Identify and adopt enabler technologies from the ESTIA and COMANCHE projects
  • Specify the AIM architecture both in terms of power management functionality as well as networking extensions
  • Define power mode levels per appliance type and functions through practical experiments
